Exhibition: "Ahir i avui. 100 anys d’humor gràfic"

Visual satire was highly popular in the first third of the 20th century, when radio and television were still in their infancy and printed publications were the main media outlets. Appearing in newspapers, magazines and books, this kind of humour reflected the eventful political and social life of the time. In today’s word, though the genre is still popular, it has shifted from paper to digital media outlets and social media platforms.

This exhibition seeks to show that despite a century of changes, the themes of satire remain the same: wars, corruption, ideological polarisation, traffic, the ‘new-money’ class, weather and fashion.
