Sitges set for Easter with busy hotels and services ready to welcome visitors
Sitges gets Easter under way with good prospects in terms of tourist activity. Hotels are expected to fill 87% of their rooms on average between Thursday and Sunday, a figure which could rise thanks to last-minute bookings, particularly if the weather is fine. The good weather forecast could see the number of day visitors rocket as they come to enjoy the options available, with the start of the beach season a big factor.
Sitges began its beach season on 31 March. Since then, services have been gradually rolled out and will be at full capacity in June, coinciding with the official start of the high season at the beaches and the summer.
Visitors to Sitges over Easter can already enjoy a dozen beach bars and the hospitality and relaxation options they offer, as well as the activities offered by the sailing school at the Anquines beach. The rescue and lifesaving service is operating until 21 April, from 12 noon to 6 pm, at the busiest beaches: La Ribera, La Fragata, Bassa Rodona, Sant Sebastià, Garraf and Les Botigues. In parallel, the municipal cleaning brigade is working to keep these natural spaces clean, with the sand, watchtowers and urban furniture in good condition.
Sitges goes into Easter having bolstered its municipal operation, clearly opting for quality, security and the well-being of its residents and visitors. The expected high visitor numbers represent a good opportunity to drive the local economy and strengthen the vitality of the municipality at the start of the tourist season.
