Sitges has been selected as finalist in the Travel Gossip Awards 2025 in the category of favourite LGBTQ+ destination among travel agents. The awards are organised by the English tourist information platform Travel Gossip. Travel agents have until 31 January to vote on the platform to determine the winners of this and other categories linked to the tourist sector. The municipality is competing with other well-known destinations such as Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Malta, Miami and Mykonos.

Travel Gossip is a media brand specialising in travel and based in the UK, one of the main markets of interest for the municipality. The prestigious platform connects travel agents with providers and destinations, promoting a dynamic networking system. Its annual awards are one of the most highly respected distinctions in the tourist industry.

According to the Councillor for Tourism, Xavier Ripoll, “this nomination confirms Sitges’ reputation as one of the main LGBTQ+ destinations on a global level, standing out for its tourist appeal and its wide range of culture and leisure options. It’s recognition of our backing for diversity and excellence in tourism”.

These awards are based on a strict and independent voting process, where travel agents nominate and select their favourite destinations and providers. The awards recognise the best companies and services in the tourist sector, with categories such as favourite cruise operator among travel agents, best airline, best luxury operator and favourite gastronomy destination. Thousands of agents took part in the nomination, with Sitges managing to stand out among strong international competition.

The awards ceremony will be on 25 March 2025 during The Travel Celebration, an event organised in London in collaboration with Virgin Voyages. The ceremony is set to bring together around 400 guests and offers networking opportunities for those attending.
