The show is being performed next Thursday at L’Escorxador at 8 pm and forms part of the Cicló <35, a new music and performing arts cycle by professional creators up to the age of 35 which will be included in the framework of La Pregonera

The 2025 theatre season in Sitges opens with the gastronomy performance Seitons Masdeu Hola i Adeu at L’Escorxador on Thursday, 30 January.  The artist Neus Masdeu pays homage to the maritime culture of her native town of Arenys de Mar with this show.

Seitons Masdeu Hola i Adeu is the official presentation of a company producing anchovy fillets marinaded in vinegar and founded by Neus Masdeu (Arenys de Mar, 1995), daughter of the last fish auctioneer (shouting method) of her native town of Arenys de Mar. During the show, which plays with the boundaries of reality and fiction, we discover family tales and secrets of the fish trade, the mindset and the identity of the company, in a light-hearted and fun session with some surprises. During the show the audience can take part in an auction of official products by Josep Masdeu (Neus’ father) and taste various little dishes where the anchovy is the star.

The show starts at 8 pm and also includes some other surprises in a peculiar format, with spectators sitting at a table as if it were a banquet and having a vermouth with some light bites.

Directed by Neus Masdeu, this visual theatre and performance show stars Neus herself, her father, Josep Masdeu, and Elena Carvajal.  Tickets can be acquired on the website https://www.culturasitges.cat/actualitat/agenda/ciclo.

Seitons Masdeu Hola i Adeu forms part of the Cicló <35, a new music and performing arts cycle by professional creators up to the age of 35 which will be offered at L’Escorxador.  This initiative to promote emerging talent comes within the framework of La Pregonera, the cultural agenda for Sitges, to be presented next Tuesday.
