Sitges improves its electric vehicle charging service with a new and more efficient platform

City Hall is implementing the Place to Plug system at six city charging stations and is changing maintenance companies

Starting on Monday 30 December, Sitges City Council will be starting a gradual process to improve the electric vehicle charging service in the city, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility and the quality of the service it offers city residents. This transformation includes hiring a new maintenance company for the charging stations and implementing Place to Plug, a more advanced and intuitive platform that will replace the EVcharge application.

Starting on the 30th, the six charging stations that will use the new Place to Plug system will be those located on:

  • Carrer de la Devesa, 1
  • Avinguda del Camí Pla, 5
  • Passeig Marítim de Les Botigues, 35
  • Carrer Ramón de Dalmases, 10
  • Camí dels Capellans, 4
  • Camí dels Capellans, 5

Place to Plug offers a simpler, more intuitive environment that improves user experience. It also allows for easy access to information on charging point availability and facilitates the payment process, guaranteeing a more reliable and efficient service.

The transition to the new platform will be gradual, with plans for all 11 charging stations in the municipal network to be using this new system by June 2025.

This initiative strengthens City Council’s commitment to encouraging the use of electric vehicles in the city and cementing Sitges as a leader in sustainability and eco-friendly mobility.
