Fifty cultural and recreational activities to fill Sitges this Christmas
Sitges got its 2024-2025 Christmas campaign under way with the ceremony to switch on the Christmas lights and the tree in Plaça Cap de la Vila. Under the slogan “Sitges, where every detail makes Christmas”, the Town Council is offering a programme of activities from December to early January, promoting cultural and festive options, keeping traditions alive and fostering local commerce and responsible consumption. Notable options include traditional activities, children's activities, concerts, theatre, nativity scenes, the Quinto game (similar to bingo), the traditional Three Kings Parade and more.
The Councillor’s Office for Culture has coordinated the activities organised by the Town Council and organisations that have again demonstrated their involvement in these important festivities. For instance, there’s a chance to enjoy concerts with Christmas carols, storytelling, theatre, children's workshops and the performance of the traditional Pastorets de Sitges show.
The Councillor’s Office for Children and Young People at Sitges Town Council and the Three Kings Commission, together with the Carnaval Enigma and Paperets culture groups, are also organising activities such as making the traditional Tió log poop its gifts, a festive morning with classic giant games, workshops, storytelling, face-painting and hot chocolate for all. A Harry Potter escape room is also being prepared and there’s a new edition of the Christmas Park at the Pavelló de Pins Vens, a classic during the festive season and one of the most eagerly awaited activities among children and young people.
The Councillor’s Office for Economic Promotion is organising some Christmas-themed storytelling sessions in Plaça Cap de la Vila from 12 to 19 December, from 7 pm.
At the same time, a musical parade by Apocadixie Cotton Pickers will be setting off from Plaça Cap de la Vila and heading around different shopping streets in the town centre.
The range of recreational options includes activities by the Councillor’s Office for Traditions and Festivities, through the Three Kings Commission, with activities linked to the Tió on 15 December, the office for the royal messenger Aisha and the arrival of the Three Kings in Sitges.
