Sitges Tourism

Sitges launches new promotional material in the form of postcards.

Each postcard shows up to seven points of interest in Sitges with relevant information about them and some simple and instructive tips on taking better photographs. The material is available in four languages: Catalan, Spanish, English and French.

The tourist offices in Sitges will have a new printed resource from this week onwards, informing tourists and visitors about the range of local options in an attractive and visual way. The new information postcards are conceived as an innovative material for tourists, created with the idea of highlighting essential points in Sitges for people during their visit.

In this respect, two series of postcards with different themed routes have been designed: the first centres on architecture and the second places an emphasis on nature. Each set of postcards details up to seven points of interest in Sitges, with relevant information on the area and some simple and instructive tips on taking better photographs to take away an unforgettable memory of the experience. The material is available in four languages: Catalan, Spanish, English and French.

According to the Councillor for Tourism, Xaver Ripoll, “it’s important that our tourist offices can transmit, through different materials, the singularity and diversity of the tourist resources in our territory. The offices are an essential showcase that we must promote to guide tourist flows better and help improve both the quality of the visitors’ experiences and the well-being of local residents”.

The new material meets a twofold goal of promoting the destination, pointing out the authenticity of Sitges, and decentralising tourism, avoiding the concentration of visitors in the busiest areas. In addition, the postcards help enrich the narrative of tourist information staff when they assist visitors, facilitating a more complete and more personalised experience.

Tourist offices in Sitges

Sitges has had two tourist offices since July 2021; the main office at the train station and the visitor support centre of Can Milà, located at the entrance to the town when taking the Sitges Centre exit on the motorway. Year after year, the town’s tourist offices become more firmly established as a basic information point for tourists during their stay. Over 19,000 people visited the tourist offices this summer, 32% of them domestic visitors, 16% of them French, 13% of them from the UK and 9% from the USA.
