The festival ‘Creative Connexions Ireland: Sitges 2024’ reaches its eleventh edition from 24 to 27 October, celebrating the meeting between Irish culture and Catalan culture. The event has become firmly established as one of Europe’s biggest Irish music festivals, this year bringing together over 60 professional artists from Ireland. The programme includes more than 50 shows, with music, dance, workshops and talks by artists.

The goal of the festival is to create an artistic connection between the two cultures, with events that include emerging artists and consecrated figures alike, offering a rich and varied cultural experience. Over 220 young Irish artists will be travelling to Sitges this year as part of the presentation of young Irish talents together with other local names.

The main venue for the eleventh festival will be the Casino Prado. Fifteen concerts are in store at the venue, in different styles and formats. This year’s line-up of artists is made up of Cathy Jordan, Simon Morgan, Brian Fleming, Maria-Doyle Kennedy, 1993 Eurovision Song Contest winner Niamh Kavanag,  Cormac de Barra, Matthew Berrill, Cormac Breathnach, Brendan Graham, Feargal Murray, Joan Pinós and Jarrod Cagwin, the choir with more than 50 voices COR Nua, No Crows, Coast 2 Coasts with the artists Tim Doyle, Matthew Berrill, Simon Morgan and Richie Buckley.

The festival programme also stands out for its parallel activities in different streets in the town, such as performances in various spaces and the festival parade between La Fragata and the Jardins de Prado on Saturday, 25 October.

The organisers of Creative Connexions expect 2,000 people from Ireland to make the trip to Sitges this year, with many of them extending their stay in the town until Tuesday, 29 October, due to the public holiday in their country. The festival is organised by Artscope and is supported by Culture Ireland, Sitges Town Council, the Councillor’s Office for Tourism at Sitges Town Council and the Irish Embassy in Madrid
