The Grape Harvest Festival returns to Sitges for its 63rd edition, running from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 October and featuring the most traditional activities such as the grape-treading competition and the 17th Wine Festival in La Fragata.

The first day, on Friday 18 October, starts with the opening speech by the town’s official chronicler, Joan Yll Martínez, in the Racó de la Calma at 7.30 pm. The Wine Festival starts that same afternoon in La Fragata at 7 pm, and the Centre d’Interpretació de la Malvasia de Sitges (CIM) will be offering free admission from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Saturday gets under way with officials from municipal authorities and Foment de Sitges visiting the Torres & Earth space in Passeig de la Ribera at 11.30 am. The Wine Festival will be open in the morning and the afternoon, and the CIM will continue its open days. The CIM will also be offering a guided tour around the streets of Sitges on Saturday at 11 am, entitled ‘Olor de most’. This activity forms part of the 700th anniversary of the Fundació de l’Hospital de Sant Joan Baptista, with advanced booking required (link for tickets).

The most traditional activities in the Grape Harvest Festival come on Sunday, 20 October, such as the first must press (in Plaça del Baluard at 10.15 am), the 45th Grape-treading competition (in La Fragata at 12.30 pm) and the weight of the Pubilla and Hereu of Sitges in bottles of wine (after the competition). The CIM will continue to open to the public, from 11 am to 2.30 pm, and the Wine Festival will be on in La Fragata during the morning and the afternoon. The Grape Harvest Festival 2024 rounds off with a session of havanera songs, performed by group Xató at La Fragata at 7 pm, where the traditional flamed liquor will be served with Torres 10 brandy.
