Sitges Tourism

This year the Bears Sitges Week is expected to attract more than 9,000 visitors

From Friday 30th to 8th September, a series of cultural and recreational activities have been scheduled that are expected to attract more than 9,000 participants throughout the week.

The International Bear Sitges Week starts on Friday, with its usual bear route in Sitges' music and dance venues, and will last until 8th September. It is expected that over the course of the week more than 9,000 people from different European countries will visit the city to enjoy the programme.

As part of the Bears Sitges Week programme of official events, highlights include the themed nights at the Bear Village (from 2nd to 8th September), routes through various bars in the town and the usual meeting points on the beaches of Balmins, Bassa Rodona and Anquines and cultural proposals to get to know Sitges. The organisation encourages people to discover the museum, the traditional tour of the town's architectural and cultural heritage, excursions to the beach and the Garraf Park, among others.

The City Council is once again collaborating in the organisation of the event, which is considered one of the most internationally renowned. The councillor for Tourism, Xavi Ripoll, considers that ‘this is an event of special interest that reinforces diversity and generates a positive impact on our cultural and tourist offer, as it attracts thousands of visitors who give continuity to the season and contribute to the local economy. It should also be noted that this international meeting allows us to continue supporting the LGTBIQ+ community and this is also very important’.

According to the organisation, it is estimated that Bears Sitges Week will generate an economic impact of more than 12 million euros for the destination.
