A new mobile tourist information service is launched in Sitges
The objective is to improve the experience of visitors and tourists who visit the destination, with a more accessible, agile and effective service.
From this August, two tourist information officers will walk around the areas of maximum affluence in Sitges to resolve queries and provide information to those tourists and visitors who need it. In this way, a complementary mobile information point will be added to the tourist offices (located in the Eduard Maristany square s/n and in Can Milà) to avoid them having to travel to the offices.
The mobile information service is expected to operate from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from August 1st to October 13th (the last day of the Sitges Film Festival), coinciding with the high season and during periods of major events. Staff will be identified and provided with tablets with internet access and will be able to assist visitors in several languages.
The Councillor for Tourism, Xavi Ripoll, assures that "it is necessary that the quality and updated information available in the tourist offices goes beyond the usual channels and reaches more visitors and tourists. This is also a way to innovate and improve the service that we already offer online with other leading destinations at European level."
This service is launched as a result of the document "Tourist Information Strategy for local tourist offices in Sitges", which provides for a series of improvements in the operation of the tourist offices and a roadmap regarding their organisation, management and function.
According to the 2023 data report, the tourist offices in Sitges are a basic element in the travel cycle and the visitor service figures have been exceeded year after year. In 2023, the number of users served was 59,935, an increase of 24.80% over 2022. By nationality, users are mainly national, followed by the French, British, American and Argentine. The main topics of interest are heritage and monuments, transport, museums and exhibitions and local events.
