The action plan for the second half of the year was presented by the Tourism Advisory Council.
The Tourism Advisory Council held its annual meeting this Wednesday at the Hotel ME Sitges Terramar to discuss and agree on actions and lines of work for the Tourism Department for the 2024 fiscal year with the private sector.
The session allowed a review of the actions carried out in the first half of the year, including the presentation of the strategic plan for tourism accessibility and the resolution of important tenders such as the technical secretariat of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destinations, which aims to develop projects related to the 5 million euros subsidy from the Next Generation Fund. Commercial actions in key markets were also reviewed, including the Sitges Convention Bureau hosting the Catalonia Business Meetings and the annual meeting of ICCA, the world's leading International Congress and Convention Association. Additionally, commercial actions in collaboration with Turespaña were attended to work with international markets of interest to the destination.
During the Advisory Council meeting, the main actions to be carried out in the medium term were outlined, including a focus on tourism experiences in enogastronomy and culture, based on the priorities set by the 2024-2028 marketing plan.
Tourism Councilor Xavi Ripoll emphasized that “the importance of this meeting point between businesses, tourism sector entities, and the council should establish solid and agreed-upon work bases to improve the management and promotion of the municipality, benefiting both the visitors to our municipality, the tourists, and the citizens.”
