The neighbourhood of Les Cases Noves celebrates Sant Pere with a weekend full of popular events.

The castellera performance on Saturday at 8 p.m. is the main novelty in a programme that includes the Correfoc on Friday and the opening speech and street party.

The neighbourhood of Les Cases Noves takes up the thread of the summer festivities in Sitges and celebrates Sant Pere over a weekend packed with popular events. The neighbourhood committee in charge of organising the festivities, with the support of the Town Council, has programmed a new event for 2024: the castellera performance on Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Plaça dels castellers, where the Colla Jove de Castellers de Sitges and the Xicots de Vilafranca will be performing.

The programme of events for the Cases Noves begins on Thursday evening, with the "Departure of the Office" which will take place at the chapel of San Sebastián and will go through the streets until it reaches the castellers' square. Once there, one of the most emotional events will take place, the tribute to the elderly people of the neighbourhood.

The Correfoc is the main event on Friday night. The route will start at the Pont dels ocells and will end at the Plaça dels Castellers, with a DJ. This is an event with pyrotechnics and, therefore, people with acoustic sensitivity or with pets that may be affected by the rockets should take this into account. Also, on Saturday at 2 p.m. there is the second act with pyrotechnics, with the 12 morteritos.

Saturday night will host the Castellera performance, a new feature this year, followed by the opening speech by the Councillor for Traditions and Festivities, Eva Martín Martínez, which will give way to the open-air dance. The children will have their moment on Sunday afternoon, with a party for children and then there will be a concert of habaneras, which will close with the final fireworks display, the last act with pyrotechnics.
