From Friday the lifeguard and lifeguard service is deployed on the beaches of Sitges

Until 13 October, the 29 lifeguards of the service will operate at different times, depending on whether it is low, medium or high season. From the end of June, the assisted bathing service for people with reduced mobility will also be available.

Starting this Friday, Sitges beaches will have a full lifeguard and lifeguard service to guarantee the safety of beach users. Until 14 June, the service will be open from 11 am to 6 pm. Although it is considered low season, the service is deployed on all beaches except Cala Ginesta and Cala Morisca. From 15th to 23rd June is considered mid-season and the opening hours are extended by one hour, from 10am to 6pm, this time on all beaches. From 24th June, with the start of the high season, the lifeguard service, with 29 lifeguards, will operate from 10am to 7pm.

These areas have a canopy, amphibious chair and crutches for the assisted bathing service, which is also provided by the lifeguard and lifeguard staff. It is not necessary to make an appointment in advance. Those interested in the assisted bathing service should contact those responsible for the service directly when they wish to use it.

The lifeguard and lifeguard service closed in 2023 with 57,635 preventive actions on Sitges beaches. Throughout the season, 2,493 assistances were carried out, of which 1,500 corresponded to minor care and 91 to serious interventions. There were also 38 water assistances and 95 rescues.
