For the first time, the artits Octavi Intente exhibits at the CC Miramar. This retrospective that allows us to follow his artistic career over the last 10 years. Inaugurated yesterday, it will remain on display until 12 May.
The acrylics exhibited in the show are complemented by a 6-metre mural. Among the paintings are "the 'Dibums', drawings with a desire for volume that want to get out of the painting", as the artist himself explains.
"Pel lículas d'un fotograma" is one of the winning proposals of the public competition, convened by the Department of Culture of the City of Sitges, to show exhibition projects at the Miramar-Centre Cultural.
Octavi Intente, excited by the welcome, explained that "whenever I came to Sitges, I always had the fantasy of exhibiting at the Miramar CC, I've always liked it, especially during the day, because it has a special light, and its location, facing the sea, is very unique".
Through his singular creations, the artist shows us a kind of surrealist costumbrista style. The imprint of the comic is very present in his work, "when I was a child I read comics like Cavall Fort, Tintin, Ásterix and Obelix because it has always attracted my attention how the authors of the comics draw that the painters of abstract painting".
The title of the exhibition shows that "each painting is a film of a single frame in which each viewer freely interprets the beginning and the end of a painting, an image or a film", according to Octavi Intente.
