The Sitges Rock Trail prepared in the Garraf Park
The last edition of the Sitges Rock Trail returns now to around 500 participants and a hundred volunteers. The Sitges Hiking Center organizes one more popular and competitive event with two circuits that allow you to reach the Garraf: the Speed Rock Trail of 12 km, with a positive slope of 400 metres, and the Sitges Rock Trail of 25 km and a positive slope. of 1,000 meters. In both cases, the participants will cross the Parc del Garraf and will be dressed in authentic costumes of the Garraf massif, in a very unknown mass environment.
Precisely, the Sports Councilor of the Sitges City Council, Jaume Monasterio Miró, highlights that “the Sitges Rock Trail is an event of great value, because it combines sports with the connection of nature” and affirms that “the fet organized by the Center Excursionista de Sitges in which it provides all the guarantees of respect for the environment and the mateix temps is a sample of the vitality of this entity.
The starting point of the race will be in the gardens of Parc del Rocar and the nerve center of the organization will be located in the Espai Jove (Parc del Rocar). From 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., the bibs will be distributed at the Espai Jove, at 8:40 a.m. the sorting booth will open and at 8:50 a.m. the public address briefing will take place, with indications and reminders given. At 8:55 a.m. the departure calaix will be released so that at 9 a.m. the two courses will begin.
The expected arrival time of the first Speed Rock runner is around 10 a.m., while the first Sitges Rock Trail classifier is expected to arrive at 11:15 a.m. Later, at 11:30 a.m., the Speed Rock category trophies are scheduled to be awarded, while the Sitges Rock Trail trophies are expected to be distributed at 1 p.m. All volunteers in the organization will receive one dinar at 2 p.m.
