Exhibition: "Models de bellesa"
In 1891, given the impact of the Universal Exhibition of 1888 and the new cultural currents, Barcelona inaugurated the Museum of Reproductions as a commitment of the city to gather a collection that reproduced examples of the history of art and that was accessible to the population in general. Since 1935, a large part of these works have been part of the collections of the Sitges Museums, some of which are on display to the public in different spaces, such as the Palau de Maricel.
With the aim of projecting this collection, the Museus de Sitges has programmed an exhibition, which will be held on the ground floor of the Maricel Museum and which will present a tour of various areas of art history, with the exhibition of pieces such as the arts of glass, ceramics, enamel, iron, porcelain, sculpture, mosaic or furniture, among others, created from reproductions of masterpieces from each of these fields.
