Sitges, a town celebrated for its open mind and personality, renowned for its warm welcome to artists and travellers, that holds the Guinness World Record for the longest table, that wishes to be number 1 in all its endeavours, has chosen to celebrate the 1st Chirigota competition of the region.
At 10:30h saldrá del cruce de la calle Sant Francesc con la calle Espalter una comitiva formada por las Agrupaciones invitadas que recorrerá la calle Sant Francesc hasta llegar al Cap de la Vila.
A las 10:45h a cortege of invited associations will be on calle Sant Francesc, corner with calle Espalter and will parade the length of calle Sant Francesc until reaching Cap de la Vila.
At 11:30h The public will choose the winner of the four participants determined by the general level of enthusiasm, applause and noise, to proclaim the winner of the “Primer Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones de Chirigota de Sitges” This competition has been made possible with cooperation from the organisers of the Sitges Bed Race and groups No K-lia, Llanto’s, Panxampla’s and Huerto’s.
12:00h And they are off! Departure of the awaited, crazy COSTUMED BED RACE from the Casino Prado Suburense. The Carnival Queen and the children's Carnival Queen will kick off the Bed Race and will close the event together with H.M. Carnestoltes with the animation of the ‘charanga’ Bufacanyes.

18:50h HM Carnestoltes will be taken from the town hall to the beach of La Fragata, accompanied by his entourage, the Queen, the mourner’s cortège and all those who wish to pay their respects to the King, along the following route: c/ Major, Cap de la Vila, c/ Parellades, c/ Bonaire and Passeig de la Ribera at the height of the monument to El Greco.
19:20h Farewell ceremony at the beach of La Fragata where His Majesty's will and last wishes shall be read.

ARRIVAL OF SRA. CUARESMA (MRS. LENT)
Having said farewell to His Majesty Carnestoltes, on Paseo de la Ribera, arrival of Sra. Cuaresma (Mrs. Lent) ending a magnificent week of excess, sin and bringing a note of common sense.
The entourage will take the following route: Paseo de la Ribera, Bonaire, Parellades and Cap de la Vila, where Sra. Cuaresma will read her very peculiar Vegetable Manifest and hand out sugared "Buñuelos" (wind fritters).
21:00h CLOSING DINNER - EL RETIRO
