The magazine L'Amic de les Arts was the first avant-garde publication in Catalonia and a cultural reference in the first half of the 20th century. Published in Sitges between 1926 and 1929 by Josep Carbonell i Gener, L'Amic de les Arts brought together authors such as Federico García Lorca, J.V. Foix, Paul Élouard, Magín Albert Cassanyes, Sebastián Sánchez-Juan, Luis Montaña and Salvador Dalí, who published its first text. It reproduced graphic work by Dalí himself, as well as by Joan Miró, Picasso, Enric Cristòfor Ricart and Pere Jou, among many others.

In the magazine, the literary and plastic creation of the new avant-gardes coexisted with noucentista thought and aesthetics, with an integrating character.
